B1 Visa

Alien visitors coming to the United States for business can apply for B-1 visa. Although B-1 visa allows alien visitors to come to United States for various business and economic activities (i.e., attending conferences, attending meetings, negotiating sales on behalf of foreign employers), it is important to note that this trip should be temporary and cannot involve employment in the United States.

Documents required for a B-1 visa

Foreign nationals, other than Canadians, Visa Waiver Program participants, should apply for a B-1 visa at U.S. consulate with the following documentation:

1. Nonimmigrant visa application

2. Supporting letter (from employer or by the applicant, if he/she is an independent business person)

3. Supporting documentation establishing the applicant's nonimmigrant intent and the business activity which the applicant will engage in the United States

4. Passport

5. Photograph
